I love to listen to music. I especially enjoy an excellent symphony orchestra. Ludwig van Beethoven, pictured above, was a German composer and pianist of extraordinary talent. After moving to Austria, Beethoven studied with Franz Joseph Haydn who was one of the most prominent composers of the Classical period. Beethoven shares the legacy of being the most famous classical composer of the western world with Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791). Beethoven is remembered for his powerful compositions and for continuing to compose and conduct even after he began to go deaf at age 28.
